The team was founded in 2008 and has been playing in the IPL since then. In the year 2012, Punjab Kings was found involved in the scandal of match fixing. Sting Operation: The sting operation was conducted by leading News Channel India TV . The sting operation has released some crucial details like some of the players were discussing some illegal payments and spot-fixing. The player Shalabh Srivastava was recorded talking about demanding 10 lakhs INR to bowl a non-ball during the match.

Investigation Of The Scandle: While the investigation was going on the investigation team found out the involvement of more players. The names of the players are Amit Yadav, Mohnish Mishra and Mohnish Mishra from the team Pune Warriors. In fact the sting operation also revealed that they had received more money than allowed under IPL regulations.

Consequences On The Team: Following the Investigation, the cricket council BCCI imposed the 5 year ban on Shalabh Srivastava and also imposed 1 year ban on Mohnish Mishra.

Sting Operation: The India TV conducted a sting operation and revealed the details about the match fixing. In the details, there are few names which were released from the team Pune warriors.

Investigation: After the sting operation took place the investigation team has found out the name of Mohnish Mishra. They found out the team allegedly discussed some illegal activities related to match fixing in IPL.

Consequences: After the investigation Mohnish Mishra received a one year ban from the BCCI for his connection with bookies and discussing match fixing.

Impact On The Team: This whole citation has a negative impact on the team as they withdrew themselves from the IPL. The main reason was that they are not able to negotiate with the BCCI over a financial dispute. Technically the Board of Cricket Council of India invoked the bank guarantee because of their unpaid fees to franchise.

Arrest Of Players: In the year 2013, Delhi Police arrested 3 players of Rajasthan Royals. The names of these players are Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila, and Ankeet Chavan. The reason for their arrest is that they are illegally fixing the match. Not only that, the police also arrested 11 bookies of the tournament.

Investigation Of the Allegation: The cricket council BCCI has conducted an Investigation regarding these allegations. They conduct this investigation under the collaboration with Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) chief Ravi Sharma. Under the investigation they found out that the arrested players had conspired with bookies to manipulate specific aspects of the matches.

Consequences of the Investigation: Following the scandals the BCCI has suspended all of the three players who are involved in the fixing. Later the BCCI also bans Sreesanth and Chavn from playing cricket for lifetime. The team has also terminated the contract with these players from the team.

Impact On Team: Following the case , Rajasthan Royals was banned from The IPL by the Supreme Court conducted panel in 2015. This simply  means that the team cannot play IPL for two years. In fact, the co-owner of the team has also been banned from any kind of involvement in cricket. Reason being that he was also found guilty in this scandal.

CSK (Chennai Super Kings )

This team is an official T20 franchise and it was based in Tamil Nadu. The captain of this team is legendary player MS Dhoni and it was owned by Chennai Super Kings Cricket. In the same year which was 2013, CSK (Chennai Super Kings ) was also found guilty in the spot-fixing and betting scandal. This scandal shook the BCCI also and here are the further details about the scandal:

Arrest of the Player: The CSK Player Gurunath Maiyappan, was also arrested on the date of May 24, 2013. This was the time when the IPL finals were going on in 2013. The BCCI found his involvement in betting related activities. His connection to bookies had raised a significant amount of concern on the integrity of the team.

Investigation of The Scandle: The biggest Legal body of our country which is the Supreme court established a committee. It was led by the chief Justice R.M. Lodha for the investigation of all the allegations. In the investigation the committee found out the involvement of Gurunath Maiyappan. He was in frequent contact with Known Bookies, leading to suspicions of match-fixing.

Consequences of the Investigation: After the investigation conducted by the Supreme court, there has been a decision which was taken by them. And the decision was not in the favour of CSK. The committee decided to suspend CSK from playing IPL for 2 consecutive years. Gurunath Maiyappan was also banned from cricket for life.

Impact On Team: This scandal has impacted the integrity of the team and also did reputation damage too. Although the team has won the title of the winner in 2010 and 2011 but all of these wins faded in the face of this scandal. The captain MS Dhoni has also said that it was also a very difficult phase for the team which has now passed.
